Embracing a healthier relationship with our bodies and food is a journey that many of us embark on, seeking not only physical well-being but also mental and emotional harmony. If you’ve been searching for a supportive community that understands the complexities of this journey, I’m excited to introduce you to an Intuitive Eating and Body Acceptance Wellness Group, curated for both women and men organized by one of my colleagues, Dr. Neona Russ (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
Why Intuitive Eating and Body Acceptance?
In a world that bombards us with unrealistic beauty standards and diet fads, it’s easy to lose sight of our own needs and desires. At Crossroad to Change, they believe in the power of Intuitive Eating and Body Acceptance as transformative tools to heal our relationship with food and our bodies.
Intuitive Eating: The Intuitive Eating approach encourages you to tap into your body’s natural cues and rhythms. Instead of rigid diets and calorie counting, you’ll learn to listen to your body’s hunger and fullness signals, making food choices that honor your individual needs. No more guilt or shame—just a nourishing and joyful way of eating.
Body Acceptance: Accepting and loving your body as it is right now is a crucial step towards holistic wellness. Our Body Acceptance approach fosters self-compassion and positive body image. Through guided discussions and activities, you’ll build resilience against societal pressures and learn to appreciate the uniqueness of your body.
The wellness groups will meet on Monday evenings for 7 weeks, with the women’s group starting on September 11 and the men’s group beginning on September 18. To ensure a conducive environment for meaningful interactions, each group is limited to 10 participants. If you miss out on this round, fret not, as another 8-week group will be available in January.
